2019 Geneva Motor Show: Top 10 Cars You Should Not Miss
The 2019 Geneva motor show is all set to begin on 5 March 2019 and like the previous events all the automakers from the world have rolled up their sleeves to showcase their products to the world. This 2019 Geneva motor show will be the 89th edition which will showcase varieties of cars from affordable to high-end luxury cars and performance-based cars with different concepts.
Given below is the list of 10 cars that should be given a look at the 2019 Geneva motor show:
BMW 7 Series facelift
Along with its other models, BMW is going to launch the 7 Series facelift at the show. The updated flagship sedan was disclosed in January whose external, technology and the cabin is upgraded and also more attention is paid on the refinery. It is powered by petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains and also a higher-spec V12.
Skoda Kamiq
The entry-level SUV of Skoda, the Kamiq was showcased in 2018 by the Vision X concept. It shares its infrastructure with the Volkswagen T-Cross. The style factor is same as the former Skoda and is also taken from the Vision X which contains a wide grille, a split headlamp setup, and subtle character lines. The cabin is same as of the Scala hatchback which has a touchscreen with a ‘hand-rest shelf’ at the top of the center console and a digital instrument cluster. It is powered by turbocharged petrol and diesel powertrains.
Tata Altroz
The H5X SUV and the 45X hatchback concepts of the Tata became the talking point at the Auto Expo 2018. And now, the company is all set to light the fire at the Geneva by launching the 45X which is called as Altroz. The Altroz is set to launch later in 2019 in India. The design will be taken from the 45X and the Altroz will be powered by a pair of 1.2-litre turbo and non-turbo petrol powertrains. The diesel powertrain has not been confirmed yet.
Pininfarina Battista
Mahindra is all set to launch its Pininfarina Battista which will be the first electric hypercar under its name at the motor show. The company claimed that the Battista will be 4WD, two-seater which will be churn out 1,900hp of maximum power and 2,300Nm of maximum torque. With the acceleration of 0-100kph time, the car will take ‘under 2 seconds’. The 0-300kph acceleration will take less than 12 seconds. The Pininfarina Battista is speculated to have a range of approx 482km.
SsangYong Korando
The SsangYong sits between the Tivoli and the Rexton and shares the style factor from the larger Rexton and the SIV 2 concept which was disclosed at the 2016 Geneva motor show. Internally, the new-generation SUV cars have a cleaner clutter-free dashboard design along with a larger touchscreen positioned in the center and the digital cluster which helps in reducing the use of buttons. The new Korando is powered by the new 1.6-liter diesel and also an all-electric variant.
Tata Vision Hornbill micro-SUV concept
Tata will disclose the Vision Hornbill micro-SUV concept at the event. The SUV is based on the latest Alfa platform of the Tata. The new SUV of Tata is the production variant of the Maruti Future S concept and it will be positioned just below the Nexon in the line-up of the company. It competes with the Mahindra KUV100 NXT. The Hornbill is speculated to be launched at the Auto Expo 2020.
Tata H7X Concept
Along with Vision Hornbill micro-SUV concept, Tata will also disclose the H7X concept at the show. The H7X concept is the seven-seat variant of the Harrier. The H7X concept will be launched in India in the second half of 2019 due to which the hatchback will be longer than the Harrier i.e. by 62mm because of the more space in the third row of the seats. Tata is thinking to give the different name to the SUV along with changed styling to make it look different from the Harrier. The production-spec will get a more powerful 2.0-liter diesel powertrain which is speculated to churn out 170hp of maximum power and 350Nm of maximum torque for the upcoming BS-VI-compliant. The powertrain will be married to a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Tata 45X EV concept
At mentioned above, the Tata Altroz will be debuted as a production hatchback and Tata will also disclose its 45X EV concept at the Geneva. The 45X EV will be based on the Alfta platform of the Tata and is a consequentiality of the EVision sedan concept which was debuted in 2018 that showcased the EV-readiness which is based on the Omega platform. Tata has not yet revealed anything about the 45X EV concept.
Skoda Vision iV concept
The Skoda Vision iV concept is inspired by the Vision E concept that made its debut in 2018. Many teasers are being teased which indicates a coupe-like profile which is same as the Vision E but with few tweaks at the front as well as the back and extra bumpers and a grille. Internally there is a minimum change in the design with a touchscreen positioned above, nominal control surfaces and a digital instrument cluster.
Kia Performance EV concept
Kia has been teasing an unnamed EV concept which is speculated to be disclosed at the show. The teaser indicated towards the low, a heavily sculpted bonnet, wide stance, cameras for rear view mirrors, and slim LED lamps positioned within the grille. Kia has not yet revealed any details about the engine of the EV concept.
