Chinese Restaurant Revealed by InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort
Recently, InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort, which is a flagship property of IHG group has launched its new culinary highlight named as, Tao of Peng. It’s a contemporary Chinese speciality restaurant that takes foodies on an amazing culinary journey through the Sichuan and Canton regions of China. The name of this eatery is derived from Chef Peng Zu, known as the master cook of the Imperial Palace.
Moving to its architecture, the restaurant has been designed keeping in mind the modern trend for the indoor and outdoor seating with stylish service. It’s led by the young and talented Chef de Cuisine, Avinash Naha, who has prepared a number of delectable menus of authentic Cantonese and Sichuan dishes. The staple dishes of Tao of Peng include MA Po tofu, offered with minced mushrooms and finished with prickly ash oil, having a flavour of Sichuan peppercorns and toasted sesame seeds.
Another one is 24-hour slow cooked Pork Belly, which is counted as one of the best dishes in the Chinese cuisine. Gourmands can enjoy an extensive array of Dim Sums like Chicken Shao Mai, Prawn Har Gau, Assorted Four Mushroom Dumplings and Crispy Prawn Cheung Fan. Each dish includes own unique casing, individual cooking techniques and varied fillings, which make them truly authentic.
While the topping of colorful spheres of fish roe, steamed edamame beans, goji berry and much more add the contemporary touch. Now, Perking Duck is considered as a national dish of China, therefore at Tao of Peng, the duck is served in three courses- the skin, a soup with the bone and finally the meat.
