Nestle India Resumes Manufacturing of Maggi Noodles
Maggi is back?: Nestle India has finally got its lost reputation in the Indian market as the company has commenced manufacturing of its instant noodles?Maggi. As of now, the Maggi production has started at three of its India plants and it’s expected that it will hit the markets after getting clearance from food testing laboratories.
A few months ago, the company had suffered very dreadful circumstances due to its several products, especially Maggi, which was forced to withdraw from the market and banned to all over the country as certain labs had found lead and MSG beyond its permissible limits.
One of the spokespersons of Nestle India said,
“We have resumed manufacturing of Maggi Noodles at three of our plants, at Nanjangud (Karnataka), Moga (Punjab), and Bicholim (Goa).”
He further commented,
“In compliance with the orders of the High Court of Bombay, fresh samples from these newly manufactured batches will be sent for testing to the three accredited laboratories designated by the High Court.”
After getting the clearances from these laboratories, then only the company would start selling in the open market. As you know, the Bombay High Court had ordered to retest all the old samples of Maggi, which got clearances by the three laboratories after testing.
The company has received test results of all the 90 samples, covering six variants, tested by these laboratories are clear with lead much below the permissible limits. In June, food regulator FSSAI had prohibited the Maggi by saying it was “unsafe and hazardous” for consumption.
