Ingredients
- 1 cup of Khoya/Mawa
- 2.5 tbsp Maida flour (white flour)
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp chopped pistachios for garnishing
- 1 and 1/4 cups of sugar
- 1 and 1/4 cups of water
- 4 strands of saffron
- 2 drops of rose essence
- A very little amount of cardamom powder
Method to prepare it
- Put Khoya/mawa into a bowl and if you have frozen it, then bring it to a room temperature.
- Add Maida (white flour), baking soda into it and mix well.
- Now, little by little add water into the mixture and combine them to form a solid dough.
- Prepare medium size balls of the dough and at the same time, you can prepare sugar syrup.
- For sugar syrup, put sugar, water, and saffron in wok (kadhai) and heat it up. It may take some time, so meanwhile you can continue with shaping your Jamun balls.
- Stir the syrup in between and add cardamom powder into it. When it turns to sticky, then switch off the gas.
- Now, heat oil in a wok (kadhai) and after it, drop a few Jamun balls into it and rolls the balls with the help of a ladle.
- Fry in low flame till it get dark brown color.
- Take it out into a tissue and immediately soak them into sugar syrup.
- Sprinkle rose essence over them and keep aside for 2 hours to absorb the sugar syrup properly.
- After that, garnish them with the nuts.
