Though the mango season is almost gone, its juicy and lip-smacking taste? can not go anywhere and the fruit can be enjoyed in every season. Being a versatile fruit, mangoes can always be chosen for a variety of dishes from breakfasts to desserts to snacks. Indian desserts are to die for and when they include mango? in them, it’s like icing on the cake. Besides, we Indians always need something “Meetha” after the main course. What else could beat a mango when it comes to “Meetha”?

So, before the king of fruits starts getting vanish from the market, let’s share a classic Indian dessert that can be prepared with ripe mangoes. Named as Mango Phirni, the palatable sweet cuisine has got rich flavours of ripe mangoes and saffron. Easy Mango Phirni Recipe For the Sweet Course

Required Ingredients for aam ki phirni

Mango Phirni Recipe Ingredients

1. Raw Rice- 31/2 tbsp (Regular or Basmati as per your choice)

2. Full-Fat Milk- 4 cups

3. Condensed Milk- 3/4 cup or sugar

4. Almonds- 10-12

5. Saffron- 3-4 Strands dipped in 2 tbsp milk

6. Pistachio- 10-12

7. Cardamom Powder- 1/2 tbsp

8. Mango Puree- 1/2 cup

9. Chopped Ripe Mangoes- 1/2-3/4 cup

10. Chopped nuts and mangoes for garnishing

Preparation

1. Dabble rice for around 30-40 minutes and drain the water. Grind it to form a coarse paste. Add 1/4 cup of water to dilute the paste and keep it aside.

2. Soak almonds and pistachio in lukewarm water for 10-15 minutes and peel them off afterwards. Make thin strips of them.

Steps for making Mango Phirni

Mango Phirni

1. Start boiling milk on a low flame and stir it in between so that it doesn’t stick to the pan from the bottom. Add the prepared rice paste.

2. Stir the mixture on a low to medium flame until it becomes thick like porridge.

3. Put condensed milk and cardamom powder. Saute the mixture well for a few more seconds to let everything blend completely. Switch off the burner and let it cool for an hour. You can refrigerate the mixture as well.

4. After an hour, take out the phirni out of the fridge and garnish the sweet dish with chopped nuts, mango puree, saffron, chopped mangoes and place it back into the refrigerator to enjoy the delightful taste of the Indian Mango Phirni.
