Nestle India Ready for the Fresh Testing of Maggi
Once again Maggi will undergo testing as Nestle India agrees to the Bombay High Court’s proposal for the independent lab testing of the instant noodles, but this time the test should be carried out in the presence of the reputed scientists. The company lawyer Iqbal Chhagla stated,
“The company was agreeable, but the tests should be conducted and the samples available with the company should be used”.
Earlier the Bombay High Court judges VM Kanade and BP Colabawala proposed to order for the independent testing of Maggi, but at that time the company has refused for the test. And, also the FSSAI and FDA had not followed the rules of Justice, because they did not gave the hearing to the company before banning Maggi from the country.
During testing, the nine samples were collected, but out of them 3 samples were carried out to test. The lawyer Chhagla said,
“Adding there was no substance in the allegation of FSSAI about the company destroying evidence by burning Maggi stock. On the contrary, we have acted on the instructions of the food regulators by destroying Maggi product”.
Maggi has been banned in India due to the presence of lead content and MSG beyond the permissible limit that are both harmful for the health.
