Make a Joyful Celebration of Janmashtami by Preparing Mingi Paak
After Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami is around the corner, which is celebrated all over India as the birth of Lord Krishna. This festival is celebrated differently in many parts of India like in Maharashtra “Dahi Handi” is played, which is very well-known, whereas in North India, devotees show images of childhood, which are placed on swings and cradles outside at homes. Required Ingredients
- ½ cup of dried Magaz (peeled melon seeds)
- ¾ cup of Khoya/Mawa
- ½ cup of Sugar
- ½ cup of Water
- 1 tbsp of Ghee
Procedure
- Roast the dry Magaz in a wok (kadai) or a pan, till they turn to a little brown in color.
- Let them keep aside.
- Heat ghee in the same wok (kadai) or a pan, which you have used earlier for roasting the Magaz. Fry quickly the Khoya/Mawa, till it gets even and slightly brown.
- After it, switch off the flame and add Magaz to Khoya/Mawa. Keep it aside.
- Now, to prepare sugar syrup, heat sugar, and water together in another pan and let the sugar dissolves over the medium flame.
- When sugar completely dissolves in the water, bring the syrup to a boil and cook, until it becomes thick.
- Turn off the flame and add syrup immediately into the Khoya mixture, followed by frequent stirring so that, it mix well.
- Transfer the whole mixture to a greased plate and keep it aside for cooling.
- One the mixture gets set and cool, cut it into square pieces by using the knife.
- Arrange the pieces properly on a serving plate and serve.
