Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda are the tough competitors in performance bikes these days. Every manufacturer had their own mind set up of providing different features in a different manner. If one is giving you a maximum power then other one will give you maximum torque. In the market of 250 cc series bikes it is pretty much difficult to select that which will be the perfect bike you can go with.

In the last four months, Kawasaki had launched two bikes; Kawasaki Z250 and its sibling Kawasaki Z250 SL. Last month Yamaha had also introduced its all new Yamaha YZF R25 and along with that Honda had bombard their Honda CBR 250R, each with a 250cc engine.
So, how does this bromance of the siblings will stand in the fight against Honda and Yamaha? Let’s have a look on it.

bikes comparison

Looks and Design: – Kawasaki Z250 and Kawasaki Z250SL, both are having bold and aggressive looks with sharp visual features.

Yamaha R25 has a two-into-one exhaust system with a stubby muffler and apart from this the design is very captivating as the edges are not sharp enough. Along with its quarter-litre style it seems to be a great competitor among other performance bikes.
And if we will talk about Honda CBR 250R, it is also a quarter-liter bike with some cosmetic and mechanical changes in front part, and unlike its predecessor it adopts chrome finished and sleek muffler.

Engine and Performance: – Kawasaki first introduced Kawasaki Z250 with a 249 cc liquid-cooled; parallel-twin engine mated with 6-speed transmission which gives 32PS power at 11,000Rpm and 21Nm of torque at 9000RPM.

Last month company had launched Kawasaki Z250’s sibling named Kawasaki Z250 SL, the SL is Sports Lightweight. The bike is powered by a single-cylinder; liquid-cooled engine with an engine displacement of 249cc and the power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 6-speed transmission box. The maximum power gained is 28PS at 9,700 RPM and its Torque rating is 23Nm at 8,200 RPM. It has two models, first one weighs 148 Kg with non-ABS version and the second one weighs 150Kg along with ABS version both with fuel added.

Yamaha R25 has its special feature of its power. It is powered by a liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, 8-Valve engine which gives displacement of 249cc and pumps out maximum power of 36PS at 12,000RPM and torque rating of 22.5Nm at 10,000RPM. It has the same 6-speed transmission gearbox.

Whereas, Honda CBR 250R is powered by single-cylinder 250cc, liquid-cooled engine which gives power of 29.4PS at 9000RPM and torque of 23Nm at 7,500RPM along with 6-speed transmission gearbox.

Special Features and Value for Money: – The Kawasaki Z250 SL is typically a street naked bike with its all new steel trellis frame which is designed to bestow the bike a better handling dynamics and easy mobility. The bike is available in two versions which is priced between Rs 2.03Lakh to Rs 2.34Lakh.

Yamaha have worked on the combustion chamber design to obtain better mixture of air and fuel, as it is built from DiASil construction which improves heat dissipation, which is available at an affordable price of Rs 2.5Lakh.

And for Honda CBR 250R, the company claims that the gear ratios have been changed to better suit the new dynamics of the engine, giving you two versions with the price range of Rs 2.5Lakh to Rs 3.0Lakh.
