Vasant Panchami is arriving on 4th February 2014. It is a Hindu festival of spring, which comes in the month of Magh, a Hindu month, which falls in the months of January and February. The festival is celebrated across India in different cities with different customs and rituals.

It is the festival that indicates the end of the winter season and start of spring time. On this day, prayers are held for worship of the goddess Saraswati. People and children wear yellow dresses and take part in various festival activities. The color yellow has a special significance on this day which marks the brilliance of nature and vibrancy of life along with rich growth.

On this day people wear yellow dresses, they all together makes a big yellow colored picture which is eye soothing and spreads its warmth all around. Special sweets are prepared on this day and they are also colored in yellow. It is a public holiday and the past behind the celebration of Vasant Panchami is based on Hindu goddess Saraswati, who is the goddess of wisdom.
