Delhi Vidhan Sabha Elections 2013 Results
The 2013 election result has come what people are waiting for. In Delhi, legislative Assembly Election held on 4 December whose results have come yesterday on Sunday 8 December. The results are astounding that would perhaps no one expect. There were two main parties Congress and BJP and except another one that was AAP, and what we could say there are uncertain results that have come. Sheila Dikshit of Congress lost to AAP’s Arvind Kejriwaal. It is first time that a new formed party AAP defeated Congress’ Sheila Dikshit, three times election winner, in Delhi. From BJP’s side Harsh Vardhan won the election.
Political Party | Candidates | Seats Won |
BJP | 66 | 31 |
AAP | 70 | 28 |
Congress | 70 | 8 |
JD(U) | – | 1 |
SAD | 4 | 1 |
Independent | 224 | 1 |
Total | 810 | 70 |
There were 810 candidates running for office including 244 independents in which BJP led in 34 constituencies, Congress in 7 and APP in 26 seats. It is a surprise that APP came as a winner that shocked Both BJP and Congress. Now it is time to form a new government as BJP has gained a plurality, they have the right to form a new government but nothing can be said now because if no party could agree to form a coalition government, President’s rule will be enforced until a new election is held within six months and on the other side APP’s Arvind Kejriwal has said that they would not ally with other parties.
