Celebrate Pushkar Festival with Rajasthan Tourism
Pushkar is the city of temples. It is the only place where Lord Brahma’s temple is located. It is said that the 400 beautiful temples are situated on the banks of the lake in which Brahma Ji had dropped the lotus flower. Many people visit Pushkar in the month of Karthik. They travel along the tough deserts of Thar and reach this place for celebration. Pushkar is also famous for world’s biggest animal fest. This is a memorable fest which everyone reminds.
This time Pushkar mela or fest is organized with many programs and events. Many cultural programs, competitions and special items are organized for leisure. Cultural programs include camel run, camel and horse decoration, Deepdan, Shilpgram (art and craft market), maha arti and spiritual procession and evening cultural program. Competition programs include whisker competition, wrestling competition, turban fastening and tilak competition, rural and traditional games etc. the “Vishesh Akarshan” or special attraction includes light music by Vidya Shah and Indian bride and groom show on 14th November, Best of Rajasthan on 15th November and grand closing ceremony on 17th November. This whole arrangement is organized by Rajasthan tourism.
