The FDA Officials Ordered to Destroy Amul’s Milk Pouches
After Maggi, now it’s the turn of Amul, well-known company of India, known for its food products, such as milk, cheese, ice creams and many more. But, due to the presence of dust particles in the milk packets found by the customer, the FDA officials have raided Amul’s godown and collected 6 samples of milk pouches for the testing and also ordered to destroy those packets, which were curdling. The samples of the products, which were taken for testing are- Amul Ghee, ice creams, Almond shake, Homogenized milk and Standardized milk.
Mr. Vineet Kumar, FDA designated officer said,
“We were getting regular complaints about various Amul milk products sold in the open market. All samples will be sent to regional testing laboratory for analysis”.
When FDA officials met with the Mr. Samir Saxena, who is the Amul’s Head of the Quality Assurance and New Product Development department based at Ananad in Gujarat said,
“Some times milk pouches get damaged during transit as a result of which curdling takes place”.
This is not the first time when Amul has come into trouble. Last year, one of the sample of the product has stated that the manufacturing date was much after the packet was bought. However, the company had cleared the issue and told that it was the expiry date, which was printed on the packet and not the manufacturing date.
