FSSAI Recalled the Brand “Top Ramen” from the Indian Market
Day by day, the food manufacturing companies are getting hurdles in selling their food products as FSSAI has been taking strict actions against their products, which found harmful during the test. After the aftermath of the Maggi controversy, the FSSAI recalled to the brand “Top Ramen”, manufactured by the Indo Nissin. Hence, the company has declared on Monday to taking away its instant noodles from the country.
After lead and MSG beyond permissible limits found in the Maggi, the FSSAI has awoken and had come out with product safety testing of all the noodle products in India. Mr. Gautam Sharma, Managing Director (MD) of Indo Nissin Foods Pvt Ltd stated,
“At that time we had sought clarification from FSSAI since Top Ramen product approval is pending with the regulator. They have requested us to withdraw the product until they give the product approval”.
He further added,
“We have tested at two FSSAI accredited independent laboratories and shared the results with FSSAI a few weeks ago. While many Top Ramen samples have been tested by the various state FDAs across India, only in two cases slightly higher lead level has been found in the tastemaker”.
With the withdrawal of the brand “Top Ramen” from the country, also Hindustan Unilever also taking off its Knorr instant noodles over safety and regulatory issues. These all instant noodles have got the attention of the regulators after FSSAI banned the Maggi noodles from the country.
The organization had done testing in the previous month of noodles, pastas, and macroni brands like Foodles, Top Ramen, and Wai Wai.
