Although, every car goes through these tests but only few get out grabbing all star rating. Before moving to the showrooms, the vehicles go through rigorous tests including chassis test, collision test, airbag test and many more.
Some Indians cars have been marked unsafe for driving and have been banned in some parts of India, mainly in the hilly regions of north east. Take a look on the risky cars below.
1.Tata Nano
Tata Nano received Zero rating in NCAP test and it is also too compact to fit all the important safety equipments that is needed by an ideal car. The chassis is very weak and the body collapsed completely during a collision test. The body is unstable which makes it difficult to handle on uneven terrains.
2.Maruti Alto 800
The structural flaws and weaknesses in the frame afforded this car a zero star rating in the car safety area. Alto 800 failed more than one independent and comprehensive crash test that showed it posed high risk of life threatening injury.
3. Hyundai i10
The Hyundai i10 has failed miserably in both the UN Basic Safety test and the Global NCAP test. The collision crash tests were highly disappointing.
4. Maruti Suzuki Swift
Swift has received zero star by the Global NCAP. The car can damage the knees and lower body parts in case of headon collision. The test also revealed that the child safety is also not promisible.
5. Nissan Quest
The minivan went through a 40 mph crash test and the results were shocking, the person might be lucky to even walk easily after the accident. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety claimed that the car is not to drive at high speeds.
6. Hyundai Accent
The Hyundai Accent has gone through some severe safety concerns as revealed by the IIHS. The car scored poor rating in the small overlap front test.
7. Volkswagen Polo
The Volkswagen Polo offers no airbags which also makes it achieve zero star rating from the NCAP test. Without airbags, the Polo failed to meet the UN’s minimum safety requirements in the crash test performed at 56 kmph.
8. Nissan Versa
The Nissan Versa received poor rating score on frontal collisions by IIHS. The intruding structure of the car is responsible for bringing maximum damage to the driver. The car also holds some serious occupantprotection weaknesses.

According to the test reports, Ford Figo too have unstable body structure similar to VW Polo. It is quite hard to handle when driving above 80 kmph on highways.
